Get a Halo for 2022

Beautiful,Woman,Portrait

Beautiful woman portrait With laser treatments, you’re typically choosing between ablative and non-ablative treatments. Ablative laser treatments remove some skin, forcing the body to build new skin cells to replace the old, damaged skin. Non-ablative treatments push laser energy into the dermis to trigger the production of new collagen and elastic, improving the skin from within. Or the light energy can target melanin in age spots in the epidermis.

But Dr. Musick has now removed your need to choose between ablative or non-ablative laser treatments, thanks to the Halo Hybrid Factional Laser. Sciton’s Halo laser is the first hybrid fractional laser. It simultaneously delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths of laser energy to the skin. One wavelength targets the epidermis, and the other targets the dermis. This combination makes a versatile tool for improving a variety of skin conditions with only minimal downtime.

How is HALO different than other laser treatments?

To achieve ablative laser procedures, such as fractional resurfacing, you use one wavelength. The same for non-ablative skin rejuvenation. With Halo, we can deliver both at the same time for our patients from Swansea, St Louis, and the surrounding areas.

One laser targets the epidermis, the skin’s outer layer. The second laser creates fractional channels into the dermis, the skin’s second layer. This is especially effective for removing sun damage, both the damage you can see in age spots and the like, and other damage you can’t see.

What are the benefits of a Halo treatment?

Long-term sun exposure, active lifestyles, and the wear and tear of everyday life takes a toll on our skin, leading to sagging, wrinkles and creases, areas of pigmentation, and an overall older appearance. Halo is meant to address this damage. Because it combines non-ablative energy and mildly ablative energy, it isn’t a harsh treatment that leaves your skin damaged and red. The energy delivered into the epidermis is absorbed by sun-damaged areas, causing pigment from the damaged skin to rise to the surface and peel off within a few days. The energy delivered into the dermis triggers collagen remodeling and skin regeneration, improving the skin from beneath.

The Halo system also continually monitors the temperature of the skin, and it has an integrated cooling system that keeps you comfortable.
