Microblading

Are your brows sparse? Have they been over-plucked? Is the shape and/or color not what they used to be or not what you want them to be? If you answer yes to any of these questions, microblading may be a wonderful option for you. This procedure is a form of semi-permanent tattooing makeup that enhances the color and shape of your eyebrows.

A small handheld tool that is made up of tiny needles is used to apply the pigment to the area. The results can last from 15-24 months before touch up is needed. Our Registered Nurse, Kasey, has received training and has been certified for this procedure by attending official training at Eye Design® in New York City.

We invite you in for a complimentary consultation to see if this is right for you!

The Importance of Sunscreen!

Did you know that the strength of the sun is strongest in Spring and Summer but is still just as harmful during the Fall and Winter? Did you also know that sun damage on our faces is commonly worse or more noticeable on the left side of our faces due to the driver’s window of our cars?

Myth: The sun isn’t as strong in the winter as it is the summer so I can’t get sunburned or get sun damage.

Fact: While the sun’s rays are strongest during the Spring and Summer due to the distance from the Earth, you can still get sunburned, get sun damage and get skin cancer during the Fall and Winter if your skin is not protected with sunscreen.

Myth: I can’t get sunburned or get sun damage on cloudy or snowy days.

Fact: Clouds and snow are highly reflective and therefore still pose a threat to you skin when the sun is involved if you are not protected with sunscreen.

At Musick Dermatology & Advanced Clinical Spa, we offer an effective and amazing line of SkinCeuticals sunscreens ranging from physical zinc oxide at an SPF 50 for the face, to SPF 30 physical and chemical sunscreens for face and body. Two of our favorite options for the face are shown below!

Laser Hair Removal vs. Waxing Now is the perfect time to start your laser hair removal treatments. Tired of waxing and shaving? Are you prone to razor burn and ingrown hairs? Laser treatments may be a better option for you than waxing.

With our laser hair treatments, you will be virtually hair free by spring! Think of all the time and money you can save by not having to worry about booking waxing appointments. Laser hair appointments are less frequent, at every four to six weeks, and significant results are typically achieved after five or six treatments depending on the area and amount of hair. In terms of cost-effectiveness, consider this: To wax underarms with tip included, it will cost an average of $360 or more per year. To use laser hair removal underarms, it will cost an average of $800 for five treatments with typically only touch up sessions required, if at all. After three years, your laser treatments will have paid for themselves. For lip and chin wax, it will cost an average of $288 plus tip. Just two laser treatments will cover that cost.

While we can treat most any area, the most common for women are the upper lip, chin, underarms, bikini and legs. The most common areas for men are the chest, back, ears and between the brows.

Book a free consultation with us to see if you are a good candidate and to go over a treatment plan and pricing.
