Chemical Peels Swansea IL Chemical peels aren’t a new thing. Cleopatra is thought to have been the first proponent of this skin improvement procedure, using sour milk as the peeling agent (lactic acid) to keep her world-ruling skin at its best.

At Musick Dermatology, we provide peels from SkinCeuticals. They are mostly mild to moderate peels that we do in our Swansea offices. Here is some more information on our peels.

What Do Chemical Peels Treat?

We use our line of peels to improve your skin’s tone and texture. The idea is to use peeling agents to get the outer layer of the epidermis to peel. Basically, we simply force the skin to exfoliate.

These skin issues respond well to our SkinCeuticals peels:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage and sun spots
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Melasma/hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Uneven skin texture

Peels Offered by Musick Dermatology

We offer a variety of peels to suit your individual skin conditions. We’ll discuss which peel would be right for you.

  • Micropeel 20 Solution— Contains 20% unbuffered, unneutralized glycolic acid to help improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, visible skin imperfections, and photodamage.
  • Advanced Corrective Peel— Our strongest peel, this combines various medical-grade acids and phenylethyl resorcinol. It dramatically diminishes varying pigmentation, improves texture, shrinks large pores, and restores a brighter, more clarified skin tone.
  • Micropeel 30 Solution— This peel uses 30% glycolic acid, a stronger solution for patients who tolerated the Micropeel 20 Solution well.
  • Gel Peel GL— This peel combines glycolic and lactic acids to exfoliate the outer surface, hydrate the skin, and revitalize areas of photodamage.
  • Micropeel Plus 30 Solution— Contains 30% salicylic acid to help minimize the appearance of acne, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, laxity, dullness, and various skin imperfections.
  • Pigment Balancing Peel— Targeting the appearance of uneven skin tone to improve photodamage and acne-related discoloration, this peel combines brightening agents with a peeling solution.
  • Micropeel Plus 20 Solution— Features a 20% salicylic acid solution to help improve acne, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, laxity, dullness, and skin imperfections. This is a lighter peel than the Plus 30.
  • Gel Peel SL— Formulated to address pore congestion, wrinkles, other signs of aging, and skin irritation, Gel Peel SL combines salicylic and mandelic acids.
  • Micropeel Sensitive Skin Solution— Just because you have sensitive skin doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from a peel. This formulation uses niacin, lactic acid, and usnic acid to gently exfoliate all types of skin. It clears clogged pores, provides hydration, and helps improve photodamage.
  • Gel Peel GL— This peel combines glycolic and lactic acids to exfoliate the outer surface, hydrate the skin, and revitalize areas of photodamage.

“Love Musick. The building is beautiful, and very clean. The staff is extremely kind, and professional. I have been a couple of times to treat leg veins- and the appointment went quick- and my legs are looking years younger at every visit.”
